WeNet’s work presented at UbiComp 2021

Lakmal Meegahapola (PhD student at Wenet partner Idiap Research Institute) presented the paper entitled: “One More Bite? Inferring Food Consumption Level of College Students Using Smartphone Sensing and Self-Reports“, connected to the project’s work, at the ACM International Joint Conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp), the premier conference in the field.

The online conference featured talks corresponding to journal papers published at the PACM on Interactive, Mobile, Wearable, and Ubiquitous Technologies (IMWUT). The paper presented is a joint publication by Idiap, IPICYT, and University of Trento.

The publication studies how college students report their own perceived level of food intake at individual eating episodes (e.g. over-eating or under-eating), and how mobile sensing features can be used as part of inference modules in future mobile apps that support self-reflection.
