WeNet at Swiss Innovation Night 2019 in Madrid

The aims to present Switzerland’s innovation landscape to an audience that includes members of the business, government, social, and cultural sectors. The themes are chosen based on cooperation in mutual interests with Spain, spanning artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics, astrophysics, and energy.

The 2019 edition took place at the Residence of the Embassy of Switzerland in Madrid on June 6th, 2019, with the theme  “Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Society“. Prof. Daniel Gatica-Perez from IDIAP, Dr. Jesus Marco from the Spanish Council of Scientific Research (CSIC), and Mr. Jose Carlos Agrela from the ISDI Institute shared their views on the future of artificial intelligence with an audience of over 100 people.

Prof. Gatica-Perez introduced the WeNet project among a number of his scientific activities targeting the design of AI systems that support the needs of communities. Both IDIAP and CSIC are partners of WeNet project, contributing their expertise on machine learning and AI-powered applications for social interaction.

The event was presented to H.E. Giulio Haas, Ambassador of Switzerland to Spain and Andorra.
